I can’t imagine all the people that you know and the places that you go When the lights are turned down low I don’t understand all the things you’ve seen, but I’m slipping in between You and your big dreams It’s always you in my big dreams and you tell me, that its over Wake up lying in a patch of four leaf clovers And you’re restless and I’m naked You gotta get out, you can’t stand to see me shaking, no Would you let me go? I didn’t think so
Welcome to Chicago, the City of Wind; Where gun shots are your lullaby, and the wind is simply an annoyance. Chicago is the largest city in the state of Illinois and the largest in the Midwest. With a population of nearly 3 million people, the city is the third largest in the United States. It's no wonder people rush to come here faster than the wind itself. It's a place that you have the opportunity to come, but do you have the luck to stay? It was during the mid-18th century when Chicago had it's first settlers, but soon was passed off to the USA by a treaty from the Potawatomis. Soon, the City of Chicago was incorporated on March 4, 1837. Does this bore you? I'm bet that now, you're thinking of not joining, but oh, it's not only the long range of history that makes Chicago such an interest to others.
And you don’t wanna be here in the future So you say the presents just a pleasant interruption to the past And you don’t wanna look much closer Cuz you’re afraid to find out all this hope, you had sent into the sky By now had crashed and it did Because of me and then you bring me home Afraid to find out that you’re alone And I’m sleeping in your living room but We don’t have much room to live
Drugs, sex, and drama. Yeah, Chicago has it all rolled up into one squished ball of a city. One night stands? They happen, and it's a small possibility you'll see the person again. That is, unless you go to the same school or something. Even then is it rare due to the high population of kids inside of the school, yet half of them don't graduate. What is stopping you from coming out to the club and drink, maybe do a little bit of snorting? The police? Psh, they're doing it too. You're underage? We have fake IDs made for you by someone in the next alleyway. If you're caught, it happens. Knowing the prisons here, it's a rare chance that you're go to prison, maybe for a day or two. But really, you didn't truly learn your lesson.
I had these dreams In them I learned to play guitar Maybe cross the country Become a rock star And there was hope in me that I could take you there But damnit your so young; well I don’t think I care And if I hurt you, then I’m sorry Please don’t think that this was easy and then you’d bring me home Cuz we both know what it’s like to be alone and I’m dreaming in your living room but we don’t have much room To live
Now, don't be too shy. Board a plane and live it up in Chicago. Where we do it bigger than Texas itself. We don't like being ordinary, so don't expect to come out the same. Try to party hard, but make friends in high places. It's all a masquerade of a wasteland. Don't be put off by it though, it'll be the best and the worst time of your life. Just play your cards right and don't fall for the obvious. So come, and don't pass by the sign representing 'CHICAGO', in the end, it'll all be worth it.
